This 1982 extended account of the life of Mohandas K. Gandhi stars a white actor, Ben Kingsley, which probably would not happen today but the movie is good nonetheless. Gandhi lived by the principles of non-violent non-cooperation and by those principles outed the British from India.

This documentary of the life of George Harrison is a great example of a guy who had everything but saw that the real value in life is in The Growth Club. When I'm feeling down I watch this movie and remember that love is really all we are and it's our choice to live in that love.

This 1997 biopic was directed by Martin Scorsese. It is based on the life and writings of Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, the exiled political and spiritual leader of Tibet. Tenzin Thuthob Tsarong, a grandnephew of the Dalai Lama, stars as the adult Dalai Lama, while Tencho Gyalpo, a niece of the Dalai Lama, appears as the Dalai Lama's mother. Against all odds, in the face of horrific oppression, HHDL still says his religion is kindness.

After Richard Alpert was fired from Harvard in 1963 for conducting psychedelic drug research, he journeyed to India, found a guru and was renamed Ram Dass ("Servant of God"). This movie is about the stroke he suffered in 1997 and the grace he found afterwards. Ram Dass lived on far past medical expectations, leaving his body in December 2019.
