About the growth club

The Growth Club is intentionally anonymous and non-commercial. That is, no one is making money from The Growth Club and we will never sell anything or endorse anyone that does. 

Why? As soon as we mix money and spirituality the process is polluted by capitalism and the profit motive. We have nothing to sell here. We are not personalities, don't need to trend on social media, and we have no program, method, or packages to sell. Period. 

Remember the First Rule of The Growth Club - Everybody is Full of Shit. That means any method, path, personality, leader, or "guru" that is making money off other people is even more likely to be full of shit – for profit. 

There may be books, groups, communities, congregations, programs, videos, etc that help people for a time but later we find there is a connection to abuse and corruption. These are the dangers of the combination of the human condition and greed/abuse of power. If anyone tells you they are not full of shit please immediately put your hand on your wallet/phone/credit cards and proceed accordingly. There is nothing inherently wrong with buying books, supporting your spiritual community, paying for courses, going to retreats, etc. Everyone has bills to pay Please just keep your eyes open and remember the First Rule. 

Please understand that we cannot possibly absolutely vet all sources of inspiration or tools that help people grow for abuse and corruption. We cannot guarantee that we won't share a resource that turns out to be absolutely full of shit. What we do here is simply share what we - and you, if you submit something to add - have found helpful on the path. If we learn of substantiated abuse or corruption we will remove the resource from our sight. 

Remember, anyone who calls themselves a guru is most likely not, in fact, a guru. The late Indian saint Ramana Maharshi said, "God, guru, and self are One." We say amen. The answers are within, the path is your own. Ram Dass famously said, "All methods are traps." We agree. This is not to say that they are not helpful or necessary but at some point in your growth if you have to choose between allegiance to your method or growing into your own truth then that method has become a trop. You will have to choose between staying safe in your comfortable path or releasing yourself to the unknown, trusting that the Universe is one where we can always grow more. 

Finally, try not to worry too much. There is no real right and wrong here, there is just love, growth, and lessons. Remember the words of Krishna Das “Love is what we are; we don’t get it from somebody, we can’t give it to anybody, we can’t fall in it or fall out of it. Love is our true Being.” The Growth Club is simply support for you, connections to resources and fellow travelers, as you evolve towards greater awareness and presence in the Love that conquers all.
